Rail Authority
To whom it may concern.
My name is Ian and I am a frequent user
of your rail service.
I would have few complaints about the service itself. The
general cleanliness of the trains and assistance from your
station staff is amongst the most courteious and efficient
in the world.
The reason for my letter is that I've noticed
in the last 8 - 12 months we have fallen victim to some rather
tacky & nauseating commercials for various products on
the back of our tickets.
I appreciate that in order to cover costs,
sometimes a business must whore itself. However this doesn't
explain the rise in the ticket prices since this new regime
of corporate prostitution has found it's way into pockets
(Like it or not).
I wondered how you could justify increasing
ticket prices as well as making money from companies such
as ihug, Colgate, Kellogg's and Cadbury.
After sleepless nights spent pondering
this issue I finally realised what you were trying to suggest.
If I figured it out correctly its an " either or "
system.
Current ticket price.
Richmond - North Sydney (Peak Hour) $7.60
Current Product price.
Richmond - North Sydney (Peak Hour) = Brush teeth with Colgate
"Fresh Confidence" + Log onto ihug and check for
train time + Jog to station eating a Cadbury's "time
out" then between Blacktown and Parramatta eat a Kellogg's
"Twist" (Good Food on the Go).
The Same trip (Off Peak) No need to brush
your teeth on return journey.
At risk of misinterpretation and subsequent
fare evasion. Please reply a.s.a.p.
